SIDNEY OVERBY
About
Sidney Overby was born and raised in Houston, Texas. At twenty years of age, she received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Managerial Finance from the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of the sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma.
Sidney’s passion for settlement planning started while spending her college summers as an intern with the mass tort administration division of The Settlement Alliance. During that time, her efforts were primarily focused on helping thousands of individuals through the post-settlement planning process for some of the nation’s most complex mass torts and class action settlements.
After graduating from Ole Miss and prior to joining Sage as a full-time settlement planner, Sidney was a law clerk for one of the nation’s top plaintiffs’ trial law firms- Watts Guerra, LLP. During her clerkship, she gained valuable industry experience by being exposed to all areas of personal injury, mass tort, and civil litigation cases. She was an active part of various trial and settlement teams. She participated in all aspects of legal research and writing, depositions, mediations, and trials. Building a strong legal foundation for her present position at Sage, part of Sidney’s clerkship was spent working closely with attorneys, clients, and their settlement planners when cases settled at the firm. As a result of this, she not only fully understands the full life of a lawsuit from beginning to end, but most importantly, she appreciates why it is so important to engage a qualified settlement planner to protect the client’s financial future.
Having not only been exposed to but active in many different areas of the business from litigation to the pre-settlement and post-settlement process, Sidney is a relentless force of advocacy for her clients. Her intense dedication to success and overcoming challenges makes her an incredible asset to the Sage team.
When she is not passionately advocating for her clients, Sidney enjoys spending time with family and friends at the ranch or on the water and rooting for the Rebels. (Hotty Toddy!)
